Leora focuses her practice on defending employers in various sectors from claims of discrimination, harassment and retaliation. Leora also counsels employers on daily employee-relations matters, from onboarding to separation, as well as issues that may arise throughout the employment relationship. Prior to joining Reed Smith, Leora was an Assistant Corporation Counsel for the New York City Law Department, Labor & Employment Division, where she acted as lead counsel and performed all aspects of litigation to defend New York City, its agencies and management-level employees in a wide range of employment litigation matters. She represented her clients in single-plaintiff, multi-plaintiff, and class action Federal and State Court employment litigation, including discrimination and retaliation claims brought under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and additional Federal, State and local employment laws. She also ensured client compliance with collective bargaining agreements, internal, state, federal and local regulations. Leora has also been active in the firm’s COVID-19 Task Force, to assist in providing guidance to clients regarding compliance with federal and state-mandated regulations in response to the pandemic.
