Brian is an associate in the firm’s Global Commercial Disputes group. He has experience representing clients in federal and state court, as well as international arbitration proceedings. Brian’s areas of practice include appellate litigation, complex commercial disputes, and intellectual property litigation. Brian is active in the firm’s pro bono practice and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, focusing on issues impacting the LGBTQ+ community.
While at the firm, Brian has managed various aspects of pre-trial practice and appeals, with an emphasis on preparing major motions and appellate briefs. The scope of Brian’s experience spans several content areas, including energy and natural resources, construction, intellectual property, personal injury, regulatory, and trade disputes.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Brian graduated magna cum laude from the University of Houston Law Center. While in law school, Brian interned for the Honorable Jennifer Walker Elrod of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, gaining invaluable legal research and drafting experience.
Prior to law school, Brian spent three years as a music teacher, working in underserved communities in the Houston metropolitan area.
