James brings the perspective of a former federal prosecutor to his defense of companies and individuals targeted in government investigations and related litigation. James also conducts internal investigations and represents clients in white collar matters, qui tam cases, regulatory enforcement actions, and other litigation involving claims of fraud and abuse. His national practice spans industry sectors, including the healthcare, pharmaceutical, medical device, technology, automotive, and manufacturing industries. A creative and tactical litigator, James has first-chaired dozens of trials to verdict, argued appeals before federal and local appellate courts, and led numerous investigations. James draws on his extensive prior experience – as a federal prosecutor in two major metropolitan markets, in private practice at a global law firm, and as a law clerk to a federal judge – in serving to strategically protect his clients’ most important interests, reputations, and bottom line.
