Chloé is a senior associate in the Shipping Group and a member of the Sanctions Practice, having qualified with Reed Smith in February 2010.
Chloé acts on behalf of owners, charterers, trading houses and P&I clubs, advising on contractual rights and obligations pertaining to a wide range of dry shipping matters, including those relating to charterparties, bills of lading, piracy, ship sale and purchase and ship building. When clients are faced with disputes Chloé advises as to their potential settlement and, where appropriate, mediation, as well as their litigation, being familiar with the High Court and arbitration (including arbitrations conducted in accordance with the rules of the LMAA, LCIA and ICC). Chloé also drafts transactional documents in support of shipping-related enterprises, including sale agreements, settlement and escrow agreements and language for charterparties.
Chloé’s experience also includes regulatory work. As a member of the Reed Smith sanctions team, she regularly advises insurers, owners, charterers and traders on potential sanctions-related challenges, providing analysis of applicable legislation and assistance with crucial due diligence work.
In 2013 Chloé spent a year on secondment with a major oil and gas trading company, where she assisted with the build-out of a natural gas trading business across Europe. She has also spent time on secondment in the Reed Smith Greek office.
