Mike is a trial and appellate lawyer.   He has tried dozens of cases before juries in state and federal trial courts and has argued many cases in state and federal appellate courts.  While in law school Mike taught Accounting at Penn’s Wharton School and he has handled numerous cases involving allegations of financial fraud, antitrust conspiracies, unfair trade practices, and violations of pricing regulations, both individual cases and class actions.   Prior to joining Reed Smith he served as a trial attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice where he primarily handled cases involving price controls on petroleum products.   He was on Reed Smith’s Executive Committee for 9 years and recently served as the firm’s Global Chief Legal Officer, overseeing the firm’s litigation and other legal and regulatory matters in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
