Cory joined Reed Smith in January 2012 and is a member of the firm's Tax, Benefits, and Wealth Planning Group. His practice focuses primarily on ERISA litigation and the defense of other executive compensation and employee benefits matters, including the defense of insurers, fiduciaries, Fortune 500 companies, privately-held businesses, benefit plans, plan administrators, officers, directors, executives and third-party administrators. Cory has defended health and welfare benefit plans and qualified and nonqualified plans across the country. He regularly advises clients on benefit claims and appeals, breach of fiduciary duty claims, COBRA and HIPAA claims, retaliation or discrimination claims under Section 510 of ERISA, and multiple-employer withdrawal liability claims. Cory also represents clients in plan audits and other IRS or DOL investigations. Prior to joining the Tax, Benefits & Wealth Planning Group, Cory was practicing litigation at a firm in Ardmore.
