Jake is an associate based in Reed Smith’s London office specialising in EU, UK and international environmental, health & safety and product compliance law.
Jake has experience in providing strategic and commercial advice to clients in a broad spectrum of sectors, including technology, energy and natural resources, chemicals, major projects, distribution, waste management and transportation. His practice involves complex regulatory and compliance advice on a broad range of environmental, health and safety, carbon market and product compliance, liability and recall issues, including relating to carbon trading schemes such as the EU ETS and an understanding of voluntary carbon offsetting schemes, incident management and emergency response, the transport of dangerous goods, the EHS aspects of corporate and real estate transactions, approval strategies and permitting, litigation, decommissioning and remediation, chemical compliance and storage, sustainability, ESG and non-financial reporting, and waste management and shipping, including the transboundary movement of waste.
Jake has experience in Australia, where he previously worked for a leading top tier environment and planning practice and was an Associate to a Justice of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Jake is a keen advocate for pro bono and has experience in a number of pro bono and community programs. Jake has also been actively engaged in industry associations.
