Jarrad is an associate in the Global Commercial Disputes Group. Jarrad has represented large and small corporations, as well as individuals, in a broad range of matters, including actions under the First Amendment, False Claims Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, California Business and Professions code section 17200, and California contract law. Jarrad has experience representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
Jarrad’s practice focuses on managed care litigation and arbitration. He has litigated a variety of complex individual and class action managed care cases, including actions involving the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act of 1975, and the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Additionally, Jarrad has represented third-parties to several large, closely-watched, healthcare-related antitrust matters California state and federal courts. Jarrad is a member of Reed Smith’s Telehealth Task Force, which identifies litigation risks related to telemedicine and counsels clients on best practices to manage those risks.
Prior to joining Reed Smith, Jarrad was an associate with a prominent litigation boutique in Los Angeles where he worked on complex commercial and white collar matters before state and federal trial and appellate courts. Jarrad earned his J.D. cum laude from American University Washington College of Law, and a degree in biology from Williams College. Prior to law school, Jarrad taught middle school and high school chemistry as a United States Peace Corps Volunteer in West Africa.
