Reed Smith is pleased to announce that Energy and Natural Resources partner Colette D. Honorable has been named “2019 Woman of the Year” by the Women's Council on Energy and the Environment (WCEE).

Honorable is a highly regarded leader in domestic and international energy sectors, who has served with distinction as a utility regulator at the federal and state levels for more than a decade. Prior to joining Reed Smith, Honorable served as commissioner to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) from January 2015 to June 2017. She began her career in utility regulation as commissioner, interim chair, and chair of the Arkansas Public Service Commission. She was president of the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, being the first person to serve as such in the organization’s 125-year history.

Today, Honorable co-leads Reed Smith’s federal and state regulatory team with fellow Washington, D.C., partner Regina Y. Speed-Bost. As a trusted advisor to her clients, Honorable is actively engaged in supporting the development of domestic and international energy policy.

Honorable is further a nonresident senior fellow with the Brookings Institution's Energy and Climate Initiative; a senior fellow with the Bipartisan Policy Center; an ambassador for the Clean Energy Education and Empowerment Initiative; a member of the Board of Directors for the Electric Power Research Institute; a member of the Global Advisory Council for the Energy Futures Initiative; and a proud member of the WCEE.
