CHICAGO & LOS ANGELES - Reed Smith partners Peter Ellis and John Iino have been named to Lawyers of Color's 2019 inaugural Nation’s Best list, which recognizes leading law firm partners and senior-level corporate counsel who have noteworthy accomplishments and a commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal profession.

Ellis is the global chair of Reed Smith’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution Department and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee and Senior Management Team. He leads a group of nearly 1,000 lawyers who handle complex commercial disputes and regulatory proceedings across the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

He represents national and multi-national clients in the areas of franchise, licensing and distribution, product liability, retail, unfair competition, trademark, trade secrets and other intellectual property claims, contract disputes, employment counseling and defense, and defending consumer-related claims.

Iino is Reed Smith’s global chair of diversity and inclusion, a member of the firm’s Global Leadership Team, and co-leads the firm’s Japan business team. He represents multinational companies in a wide variety of corporate, financial and commercial transactions, including private placements and public offerings, private equity transactions, cross-border financings, venture capital financings, secured loan financings, and state securities regulations, strategic alliances, joint ventures, technology, licensing and distribution arrangements, and corporate governance matters.
