Every year, Working Mother celebrates the U.S. firms with 50 or more attorneys that are the most successful in retaining and promoting women lawyers by acknowledging those firms as the “Best Law Firms for Women”. The award follows in the tradition of Working Mother’s groundbreaking “100 Best Companies“ introduced in 1986, which continues to set the standard for family-friendly workplaces nationwide.

“Reed Smith continues to be a leader in advancing the careers of its female attorneys,” said Cristina Shea, Global Chair of the Women’s Initiative Network at Reed Smith (WINRS). “The firm is pleased Working Mother has again recognized the ingenuity and persistence of our efforts, our progress and our results by including us among the nation’s “Best Law Firms for Women.” We are committed to continuing this important work firmwide.”

Reed Smith’s 2019 “Best Law Firms for Women” nomination touted the firm’s efforts to increase the promotion of its women attorneys to partnership and other leadership positions; its launch of “Women in the Courtroom” and “Women in the Deal Room” initiatives; its participation in the 30% Club’s cross-mentoring program; and its recent gains in work schedule flexibility, including a new “ramp-up” policy for attorneys who are transitioning back to the workplace after leaves of absence, including maternity leave.
