Additionally, Susan assists her clients with regulatory due diligence in the context of transactions, such as mergers or acquisitions. These matters often involve significant change of ownership issues surrounding the transfer of critical state licenses, and Susan helps her clients in developing and implementing strategies to ensure the smooth transition of these licenses to ensure her clients avoid costly business interruptions.

Prior to joining the firm, Susan gained extensive litigation experience defending hospitals, physicians, and nurses in complex medical malpractice matters. She has experience drafting and arguing motions, preparing and presenting witnesses for their depositions, deposing witnesses, and readying cases for trial. Susan relies on her prior litigation experience to inform her strategy for defending clients in administrative and enforcement proceedings.

While in law school, Susan was a member of the Chicago-Kent College of Law Review, a recipient of the Order of the Coif and was named to the Dean's List. She also served as an intern for the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board where she worked with administrative law judges on a wide range of cases.

Susan is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the Illinois Association of Defense Trial Counsel.
