Nat is a dedicated litigator who represents corporate policyholders in a broad range of coverage issues to maximize their insurance recoveries under state and federal law. Their practice focuses primarily on coverage disputes concerning COVID-19, mortgage insurance, comprehensive general liability insurance, directors’ and officers’ coverage, and business interruption claims. Nat has experience litigating in both state and federal court and routinely handles matters from inception through discovery, summary judgment, arbitration, and trial.
Outside of insurance recovery, Nat has also represented employers in a broad range of labor and employment matters, focusing on single Plaintiff litigation and complex wage and hour class actions, stemming from discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, misclassification, and wage and hour violations.
Beyond their litigation practice, Nat advocates for LGBTQ+ rights and strives to achieve visibility for transgender, non-binary, and gender queer+ folk in the legal community. During their time at Reed Smith, serves as the U.S. Associate Co-Chair of Reed Smith’s LGBTQ+ affinity group and played an important role in drafting Firm policy regarding declared name and pronoun recognition and implementing the Reed Smith Pronoun Initiative, which encourages both internal and external personnel to think critically about gender constructs as a whole, show allyship and support for transgender, non-binary, gender queer+ folk, and highlight and celebrate gender diversity at Reed Smith.
Prior to working at Reed Smith, Nat received their mediation certificate to better facilitate clients in achieving an amicable resolution and served as a law clerk for the Criminal Appeals, Writs, and Trials Division of the Office of the Attorney General.
