TutorMate is a unique online tutorial reading program run by charity partner Innovations for Learning. The program pairs corporate volunteers with less-advantaged children who need vital reading practice. Through TutorMate, Innovations for Learning provides the only global remote reading support program of its kind.

Innovations for Learning founder Seth Weinberger co-founded a preschool in his Chicago area community. After observing first-hand the daily challenges teachers face in helping struggling students learn reading skills, he developed software for students to practice basic reading skills independently on handheld devices.

The current online platform, TutorMate, was established in 2012 to provide busy employees with an easy way to volunteer and give struggling readers the benefit of one-to-one practice. 

The TutorMate program was also launched in the UK at the start of the 2018-19 academic year and currently supports nearly 1,000 children in London, Leeds, Bradford, Middlesborough and Doncaster.
