When California’s Fair Pay Act goes into effect January 1, 2016, the state’s employers will be subject to the strictest and most aggressive equal pay law in the country. In this webinar, we will address the Act’s requirements and how they differ from existing law. We will discuss proactive steps that employers can take to comply with the new law and minimize risk, including:

  • Auditing employee job duties, responsibilities, pay practices and compensation-related policies across the company
  • Reviewing policies that designate compensation information as confidential and proprietary and disciplinary action for disclosure of such information
  • Considering merit and seniority in salary decisions
  • Inclusion of prior work experience, education and regional/cost of living factors into pay calculations
