Box was named Law Firm Leader of the Year – Large Law Firm. She is a founding member of the steering committee of the 30% Club, which seeks to increase the number of women on corporate boards and is also involved with several influential women’s groups, such as the PowerWomen Network. She is a diversity advocate and widely recognized for driving progress in the legal profession through innovative, client-focused, kind and compassionate leadership. She is a role model and mentor for many at the firm and throughout the legal profession.

A judge at the awards commented: “A powerhouse, Tamara leads by example and is truly one to deserve recognition.”

The Women’s Initiative Network of Reed Smith (WINRS) won the Gender Equality Initiative of the Year category. WINRS provides development support, training, mentoring and recruiting resources. It is designed to ensure that women not only have a place at the table, but that they are also often the head of the table.

Reed Smith was also highly commended in the Race Equality Initiative of the Year category for its Racial Equity Action Plan to champion racial equity and marshal the firm’s various efforts to make a positive impact both within Reed Smith and the communities in which the firm operates.

Kelly Knight, London-based counsel in the firm’s Financial Industry Group, was also shortlisted for the Returner of the Year award.

The Women and Diversity in Law Awards, sponsored by the Global Legal Post, showcase people working within the UK legal sector who are dedicating their professional careers to moving the diversity, equity and inclusion needle or using their positions of influence to help facilitate change. More details on the awards can be found on the Women and Diversity in Law Awards website.

Reed Smith was also named the winner of the ‘International Firm of the Year – Female Leadership – Stakeholder’ category at the Powerwomen Awards earlier this month.
