Ingrid is a partner in the firm’s global Entertainment and Media Industry Group and a digital media, broadcast and communications transactional and regulatory expert. In the space where telecoms, technology and media converge, Ingrid’s ability to understand the often conflicting cultures and expectations of all sides has enabled her to broker complex and innovative deals throughout her career.
She joined Reed Smith in 2017, drawn to the firm’s broad international base and specifically its strength within her chosen industry and practice groups; keeping pace with the rapidly changing media landscape has been a key driver in her success to date. She has over twenty years’ experience working with clients ranging from blue-chip corporates to early stage innovators and disruptors. During that time, she has advised on a broad range of commercial and corporate transactions as well as industry-specific regulatory issues. Known for her strong leadership and interpersonal skills, Ingrid is accustomed to drawing together and leading teams of lawyers to meet particular client needs. She is also accustomed to engaging with a broad range of stakeholders including in-house lawyers, executives across a range of functions and board members. Managing expectations, facilitating meaningful discussion and developing multiple strategic scenarios, Ingrid is a proven expert in helping clients succeed in a world where surprise and change lurk around every corner.
Most recently, Chambers 2017 has described Ingrid as having “a strong understanding of the media industry" and she has been recognised in Who’s Who Legal: Sports & Entertainment and Who’s Who Legal: Telecoms, Media & Technology. She feels that much of her success stems from the benefits of having an early, inspirational mentor. As a consequence, she strongly believes in her role in supporting and empowering others, and is fiercely passionate about promoting women and diversity in the workplace.
Ingrid is a multicultural and multilingual (native French and fluent German) practitioner whose work is largely international.
Ingrid is a well-known and regular industry commentator, speaking in the press and at conferences, and hosting ‘The Top Table’ media, communications and technology lunch series. Most recently Ingrid was interviewed on BBC World Service.
Throughout her career, Ingrid has been actively engaged with the sector through participation and membership of industry bodies. Of note, she is the first lawyer to have been elected to the global board of the Mobile Entertainment Forum, the leading organisation for the mobile entertainment industry and she has recently been appointed a member of the IBC Council. In addition, she has been voted by the industry as one of the top 50 women in mobile sector. She is the European President of the Global Telecoms Women’s Network (GTWN).
