Henry is a member of the Financial Industry Group, practicing in the area of Financial Services Litigation. Henry focuses his practice on high-stakes consumer class action defense work for a wide variety of industries, including life insurance, financial services and pharmaceutical companies. He has successfully represented major insurance companies in individual and class action lawsuits involving alleged vanishing premiums, annuity interest crediting rates and various other types of consumer market conduct litigation. He also has significant experience defending “blast fax,” autodialer and text messaging class actions under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act for clients across the United States and in the United Kingdom and Canada.
Henry also represented the FDIC in recovering assets for the largest bank failure in U.S. history. And he has worked with the financial exchange industry, represented members of the Chicago Board of Trade, New York Board of Trade and the COMEX division of the New York Mercantile Exchange in complex litigation and negotiation matters over the demutualization or merger of those entities.
In addition, Henry is affiliated with Reed Smith’s Insurance Recovery Group. He has significant experience litigating and negotiating various types of insurance coverage matters, including directors and officers, fiduciary, employment and media liability claims as well as errors and omissions and commercial general liability coverage. Henry’s understanding of how to trigger insurance coverage for class action lawsuits adds significant value for his clients.
