Jo is a senior associate in Reed Smith’s Labor & Employment Group in London. Jo has a broad range of experience of supporting clients across a range of sectors including retail, finance, media, insurance and telecommunications in relation to both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Jo regularly advises clients on a wide range of employment matters including grievance and disciplinary processes, fairness of dismissals, redundancies and restructures, discrimination issues and the employment aspects of corporate transactions. Jo regularly drafts and advises clients on contracts of employment, HR policies and settlement agreements.
Jo regularly acts for employers in defending various types of Employment Tribunal claims including discrimination, unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and TUPE-related claims. Jo also has experience acting for clients in employment litigation before the High Court including taking steps to enforce post-termination restrictive covenants and dealing with the protection of confidential information.
Jo has significant experience of providing strategic advice on large-scale projects such as global restructuring processes. Jo has also undertaken and managed a number of employment due diligence processes for global clients, including reviewing current documentation and practices, identifying areas of risk and advising on and implementing solutions through new documentation and practices.
Jo frequently provides training to clients on a range of employment law issues.
