Louise is a senior associate in the Entertainment and Media Industry Group. She is a commercial litigator specialising in intellectual property, media and technology disputes.
She has experience in the law of trade marks, copyright, contract, privacy, breach of confidence and defamation. She advises a wide range of clients including broadcasters, television and film producers, social media companies, technology and telecoms providers, retailers, luxury fashion brands, celebrities and financial institutions. She often advises on disputes relating to websites and the internet and her work in this area includes advice on social gaming, online piracy and domain name disputes. Louise also advises on general commercial disputes and regularly deals with cross-border issues.
Louise has experience in non-contentious intellectual property matters, assisting clients with clearance work and issues relating to trade mark registrations and brand licensing. She recently completed a secondment to ITV where she set up the legal function for ITV's Brand Extensions team (who are responsible for the licensing of the ITV brand portfolio). This involved creating a suite of precedent licence agreements, designing legal processes, providing day-to-day legal support and working on brand protection. She has also been on secondments to BBC, Channel Four and the advertising agency BBH.
