Nicole is an experienced health care regulatory attorney who collaborates with her clients to solve their operational and business challenges, expand their platforms, and close deals. Her clients include health care providers and suppliers, private equity funds and other investors in the health care industry, commercial and managed Medicare and Medicaid managed care organizations, and life sciences companies.
She regularly advises her clients on state and federal fraud and abuse laws, including the Stark Law, federal Anti-Kickback Statute, and beneficiary inducement prohibitions, and assists clients in structuring complex transactions and contractual arrangements to comply with those laws. In this role, she often advises clients on their reimbursement challenges, developing and navigating value-based care models and payment programs, and health care licensing and corporate practice of medicine matters. Nicole also uses her regulatory experience to assist her clients in the prevention and defense of government investigations, audits, and False Claims Act litigation, and in conducting internal compliance assessments.
Nicole is active in pro bono matters, having handled matters for The American Civil Liberties Union, The Women’s Law Project, Planned Parenthood, The Innocence Network, and The Pennsylvania Innocence Project. She also serves on Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Bar Association’s Business Law Section, is co-chair of the Business Law Section’s Healthcare Law Committee, and is a former member of the Board of Directors for The Center for Emerging Visual Artists (CFEVA), a nonprofit organization that works to advance the careers of professional artists in the Philadelphia region, and to increase access to and promote a greater interest and understanding of the visual arts.
