Travis joined Reed Smith as a member of the firm's Business and Finance Department, Financial Services Group (FIG) in 2010. Travis focuses his practice on serving financial institutions, and other companies, and their directors and officers, in consumer/regulatory compliance, bank mergers and acquisitions, enforcement actions, internal investigations, and defense of financial services class action litigation. In addition, a significant portion of Travis' practice involves representing institutions and individuals in criminal and regulatory investigations.
Travis is formerly with the Enforcement Division of the Office of Comptroller of the Currency, the bureau of the U.S. Treasury Department that regulates federally-chartered banks. Travis is also an active member of the ABA'S Banking Law Committee, is a frequent writer and speaker on bank regulation, and is adjunct faculty at the Villanova University School of Law where he teaches Financial Institutions Regulation.
