According to the Williams Institute, 1.4 million people identify as transgender or non-binary. While an increasing number of employers are eager to welcome transgender and non-binary employees, many organizations are unprepared to support the needs of these employees, including navigating transition, correctly using declared pronouns, and addressing instances of bias and harassment. In fact, research suggests that a startling 90 percent of transgender workers report some form of harassment or mistreatment on the job.

In this interactive webinar, our Global DE&I Advisor Iveliz Crespo (they/them) and Insurance Recovery associate Nat Ochoa (they/them) will provide a refresher on transgender and non-binary terminology, highlight the types of harassment and discrimination faced by transgender individuals, and share tips and strategies for addressing instances of bias, becoming an ally, and creating more transgender inclusive organizations for your employees and clients.

CLE Information: This program is presumptively approved for 1.0 CLE credit in California (Elimination of Bias), Connecticut, Illinois (D&I), New Jersey (D&I), New York (D&I), Pennsylvania (Ethics), Texas (ethics) and West Virginia (ethics).. Applications for CLE credit will be filed in Delaware, Florida, Ohio, and Virginia. Attendees who are licensed in other jurisdictions will receive a uniform certificate of attendance but Reed Smith only provides credit for the states listed. Please allow 4-6 weeks after the program to receive a certificate of attendance.
