November 12, 2015– Reed Smith partner Julie A. Hardin was honored as a 2015 Woman on the Move® by Texas Executive Women (TEW) at a luncheon today at the Hilton Americas in Houston. Hardin was nominated for the prestigious award by a longtime client.

A founding member of Reed Smith’s Houston office, Hardin is a complex commercial litigator whose practice focuses on the energy industry.

“I am honored to join the ranks of ‘Women on the Move,’” said Hardin. “Texas Executive Women is greatly admired for providing much-needed scholarships to Houston-area girls, and I appreciate TEW’s recognition of my professional and community priorities and commitments.”

In addition to her noteworthy professional achievements, Hardin’s recognition by TEW also reflects a significant, longstanding commitment to advancing women and girls in Houston. A graduate of Leadership Houston, Hardin serves on the boards of the Girls Inc. of Greater Houston, Dress for Success Houston, and The Woman’s Resource of Greater Houston. She is credited with raising much-needed funds as chair of the 2012 Girls Inc. luncheon, as co-chair of the 2013 gala for Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse, as co-chair of the 2014 Dress for Success inaugural “Run for a Reason,” and as 2014 co-chair of the Center for Women in Law 5th Anniversary Luncheon.

The Houston Business Journal named Hardin a 2013 “40 Under 40” honoree and Houston Woman Magazine honored her among "Houston's 50 Most Influential Women of 2013." For 10 consecutive years, she has been named a Texas Super Lawyer or Texas Rising Star, honors bestowed on the top attorneys in the state.

Texas Executive Women was founded in 1979 by many of the most powerful and successful women in Houston. The organization’s Women on the Move® program was launched in 1985 by the Sakowitz and Hobby families to recognize the outstanding contributions of the community’s women leaders.

In the 30 years since, Women on the Move® has selected ten women annually who exemplify the best of the best of Houston’s female leadership. The program also provides a platform to raise scholarship funds for high school girls who aspire to one day be “women on the move.”
