Dan is an associate in the firm’s Appellate Group, where he handles a wide variety of commercial litigation matters in courts around the country. Dan has briefed matters for parties and amici curiae before the U.S. Supreme Court and several state and federal courts of appeals. In addition to his appellate practice, Dan has assisted trial counsel with briefing complex legal issues in dispositive motions and other matters.
Dan graduated with high honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where he served on the editorial board of The University of Chicago Law Review and was elected to the Order of the Coif. Prior to joining Reed Smith, Dan clerked for then Associate Justice David R. Stras of the Supreme Court of Minnesota and Judge Robert E. Bacharach of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, where he gained valuable analytical training and insight into the judicial decision-making process.
