This includes:
- Working with businesses to help them understand whether authorisation, licence or notification requirements are triggered by business proposals (whether in the UK or across the globe via cross-border surveys)
- Advising on ongoing regulatory compliance matters (for example, compliance with the FCA’s rules and guidance, market abuse regulations, MiFID II, the Insurance Distribution Directive and other financial services regulatory regimes)
- Advising on the financial promotions marketing regime and requirements in the UK
- Assisting on transactions with a financial regulatory angle (for example, the acquisition of a regulated firm)
- Liaising with the FCA on behalf of clients over both non-contentious and contentious matters, such as notifications, investigations and enforcement action
- Assisting regulated firms in the event of a wind-down
- Working with clients to prepare for financial regulatory changes as a result of Brexit.
Hannah has undertaken two secondments: to the FCA’s enforcement team and to the litigation team of a global bank.
