Lora is an associate in the Life Sciences Health Industry Group where she concentrates on litigation and regulatory matters for life sciences clients. Her life sciences practice primarily focuses on complex pharmaceutical and medical device product liability, False Claims Act defense, internal investigations, and advertising and promotion matters. She is also a member of the Women’s Health Product Liability Team.
Supplementing Lora’s focus on product liability litigation is her prior real world experience with the laws governing companies in the life sciences industry. Drawing from over 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry and nearly 5 years of experience working for the federal government in research and development regulatory affairs, she has an unique, real world understanding of a number of regulatory and compliance issues, including sales representative compliance, off-label promotions, Sunshine Act disclosures, PhRMA Code, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, and Stark Law. This includes knowledge of clinical trials, drug development, regulation of pharmaceutical manufacturers, and interpreting and implementing laws governed by the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act).
Lora is the STAARS (Sustaining and Training African Americans at Reed Smith) Co-Associate Chair; member of the Food and Drug Law Institue’s (FDLI) Enforcement, Litigation, and Compliance Conference Planning Committee, and a Leadership Council for Legal Diversity (LCLD) 2020 Pathfinder. With a passion for making a difference, Lora is a member of the Reed Smith's Racial Equity Plan Leadership Team – Philadelphia; Philadelphia Bar Foundation Anti-Racism Taskforce (ART); and Board Member of the Philadelphia Bar Foundation. She also serves pro bono as advisory counsel for a Philadelphia based non-profit, and provides pro-bono legal assistance to a Philadelphia non-profit organization through the Philadelphia VIP program. She volunteers with organizations focused on improving the lives of underserved woman and girls. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
