Maryanne’s clients find that she anticipates their needs and is equally adept at providing advanced metrics to measure success on their terms. Maryanne has extensive experience across all types of complex litigation conflicts and drives resolutions for her clients by quickly assessing situations and leveraging early advantages. She also has first-chair trial experience and has litigated extensively in numerous state and federal courts, including multi-district litigation.
Maryanne effectively manages product liability matters including manufactured mechanical products, medical device and pharmaceutical cases, as well as toxic torts. She has been National Coordinating Counsel for a Fortune 100 company’s asbestos litigation, which averaged more than 1700 cases litigated nationwide. In that role, she crafted the overall trial and defense strategy, established cost-effective defense management processes, identified key experts and developed data analytics to identify key trends in the litigation.
She is at the forefront of addressing legal issues with disruptive technology and has spoken and written extensively on the Internet of Things (IoT) and cybersecurity. Maryanne co-leads the firm's Internet of Things Task Force, which provides clients with comprehensive support to address the impact of these disruptive technologies, and she is also a key member of the firm's Artificial Intelligence Task Force.
Maryanne is a member of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee and serves as one of Reed Smith’s trial skills instructors, honing the courtroom abilities of the firm’s litigation associates.
