Robert’s practice focuses on helping clients resolve disputes and leverage intellectual property assets, with an emphasis on litigation and commercial disputes, as well as strategic IP portfolio development and management. Utilizing his dual bachelors degrees in biochemistry and biophysics and his Ph.D in biochemistry, he serves clients in a variety of industries, including pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, and energy, as well as medical device and high-tech. Additionally, Robert has coordinated the strategy and conduct of foreign litigation and patent office proceedings related to cases co-pending in the U.S..
Robert represents both plaintiffs and defendants in patent litigation, as well as in disputes involving technical issues. He also represents clients before the United States Patent and Trademark Office in post-grant patent proceedings, often in conjunction with litigation.
In addition to litigation, Robert counsels clients regarding transactional matters, such as preparing and prosecuting patent applications, patent portfolio development, and matters involving intellectual property licensing, due diligence, and product clearance. He is also a member of Reed Smith's cross-disciplinary 3D printing team.
