(March 14, 2013) – Three Reed Smith partners have been honored for excellent client service by The International Law Office and Lexology.

Winners of prestigious Client Choice awards for 2013 are Sherri A. Affrunti, a partner in Reed Smith’s firm-wide Labor & Employment practice, in Princeton, New Jersey; Peter G. Michelmore, a partner in its European & Middle East Corporate practice in Abu Dhabi; and, Philipp T. Süss, a partner in its European & Middle East Corporate Group in Munich.

“We are always pleased when our lawyers earn recognition for client service,” said Gregory B. Jordan, Reed Smith’s Global Managing Partner. “Our clients are at the center of everything we do; we could not be prouder of Sherri, Peter and Phillip for earning these well-deserved 2013 Client Choice awards.”

Established in 2005, the Client Choice awards recognize law firm partners around the world that stand out for excellent client service. 2013 is the first year the survey of senior corporate counsel was expanded to choose honorees by state and province in the United States and Canada.

Ms. Affrunti has extensive experience counseling and litigating for employers of every size across all industries, including life sciences, financial services, food services, insurance, waste management, manufacturing and retail. She was recognized in 2009 by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of New Jersey’s top "Forty Under 40" young professionals in the legal community.

Mr. Süss has broad expertise covering IT and outsourcing, as well as licensing, data protection, and IP litigation, focusing on both transactional and litigious work. His clients include major companies in the software and high-tech industries. He also advises domestic and international clients in the engineering and automotive sectors on outsourcing transactions and IT/IP aspects of other transactional matters.

Mr. Michelmore represents public and private energy companies, nationally and internationally, and acts for oil and tanker industry associations in administration arrangements concerning oil pollution liability. He is the immediate past Chairman of the British Business Group in Abu Dhabi and is the Honorary Legal Advisor to the British Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. He was recently singled out by Chambers Global for "excellent leadership qualities and calm counsel". Mr. Michelmore was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in H.M. the Queen’s Birthday Honours 2012 in recognition of his contribution to British business interests and the community in Abu Dhabi.

Recognition of Ms. Affrunti, Mr. Süss and Mr. Michelmore follows on the heels of other prestigious client service recognition earned by Reed Smith partners this year. In February, Scott D. Baker, a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property practice in San Francisco, was named a Client Service MVP; and Betty S.W. Graumlich, a member of the Labor &Employment practice in Richmond, and Dusty Elias Kirk, a member of the Real Estate practice in Pittsburgh, were selected as 2013 Client Service All-Stars, all by The BTI Consulting Group (“BTI”).

In addition in 2013, Reed Smith earned a spot among The BTI Client Service 30 for the ninth straight year – a recognition by in-house counsel as one of the nation’s top-tier client service law firms awarded annually by BTI.
