(September 27, 2011, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, PA) - Three of Reed Smith's top-performing young attorneys in Pennsylvania have been named "2011 Lawyers on the Fast Track" by The Legal Intelligencer.

Alex Braden, Matthew Mohn and Melissa Oretsky are featured in a supplement published by the The Legal Intelligencer today. Mr. Braden and Ms. Oretsky are associates in Reed Smith's Philadelphia office; Mr. Mohn is an associate in its Pittsburgh office.

"Reed Smith is delighted that Alex, Melissa and Matt were selected for this well-deserved recognition," said Gregory B. Jordan, Reed Smith's Global Managing Partner. "It not only reflects well on their capabilities, but on this firm's ability to recruit well-qualified young professionals and provide them with the resources they need early in their careers to become leaders among their peers. We congratulate all three of them on this achievement."

A 2002 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Ms. Oretsky is a member of Reed Smith's Commercial Litigation Group, with a practice focused on general and complex litigation matters, with a strong emphasis on pharmaceutical products liability and mass tort litigation. She is also very active in the firm's pro bono efforts and has assisted with several high-profile and high stakes pro bono matters, including representing an Alabama inmate on death row and a former member of the military with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder denied the veteran's benefits. Ms. Oretsky is also a Hearing Committee Member for the Disciplinary Board of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and is very active in the community, serving on the Board of the Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Executive Committee of the Louis D. Brandeis Law Society.

"I am grateful for the opportunities Reed Smith has afforded me as a young lawyer," said Ms. Oretsky, "including many resources to broaden my knowledge and strengthen my skills as a litigator, as well as the chance to mentor new associates."

Mr. Mohn is a 2005 graduate of Duquesne University School of Law. He is a member of Reed Smith's Corporate & Securities Group, with an extensive corporate practice that focuses on strategic and private equity-led mergers and acquisitions. He is a member of the firm's Associates Committee and the Pittsburgh office's Recruiting Committee and Summer Subcommittee. Mr. Mohn also serves as President of the Board of Directors of Reading Is Fundamental Pittsburgh and pro bono attorney for the Pittsburgh Adoption Legal Services Project.

"It is particularly rewarding to share this honor with two of my Reed Smith colleagues who are also associates," said Mr. Mohn. "It's a credit to Reed Smith that it invests so heavily in developing its associates through its CareeRS program, which encourages well-rounded associates who are not only focused on honing their legal skills, but also on developing their leadership and management abilities, as well as their roles as advocates in our communities."

A 2007 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. Braden is a member of Reed Smith's Real Estate Group focusing his practice on real estate finance and securitization. Mr. Braden also leads the Philadelphia office's pro bono "Tangled Title Team," and serves on the Board of Directors of Philadelphia VIP. Prior to joining Reed Smith, he was a legal intern for the United Nation's Mission in the Kosovo Department of Justice.

"This recognition belongs as much to Reed Smith as to me," said Mr. Braden. "I've had amazing opportunities here to develop a strong and diverse practice with the backing and support of some of the country's best real estate legal professionals."

According to The Legal Intelligencer, this year's "Lawyers on the Fast Track" honorees were selected by the publication's editorial staff and eight panelists from across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania from the large group of nominees submitted.

All 2011 "Lawyers on the Fast Track" will be honored at a dinner event November 3 at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia.
