Tallat is a partner in the Energy and Natural Resources Group at Reed Smith in London and is part of the firm’s global ESG and Sustainability practice. She is an environmental and social (E&S) lawyer with over two decades of experience throughout the UK, EU, Middle East, Africa and the Americas, advising on regulatory compliance and permitting, project finance, impact management and various requirements related to reporting and diligence.
Her cross-cutting practice covers the full suite of E&S aspects of construction, real estate, M&A, capital markets, finance and project development across multiple sectors, including large-scale infrastructure projects (ports, rail, road, power, data centres, social/leisure), oil & gas (including LNG and petrochem), renewables (wind, solar, biomass) mining & metals, water and waste management. Advisory work includes corporate supply chain diligence, business and human rights, non-financial disclosure and reporting, and financing mechanisms to address climate change impacts and sustainable development, including energy transition.
Tallat has unique and diverse industry experience in international environmental requirements and compliance, such as the IFC Performance Standards, OECD Common Approaches, Equator Principles, the Paris Agreement and treaties on biodiversity, marine protection and sustainable development, along with the application of EU directives including deforestation, CSRD, CSDDD, TFND, and EU ETS.
She is recognized for her innovative approaches to resource management such as voluntary carbon trading, sustainability linked loans, and developing corporate ESG policies. Tallat is a BSI certified ISO 14001 lead auditor (environmental management systems).
