Keri is an adept counselor, problem solver, and negotiator, and brings to clients a significant background and business understanding of the advertising industry and field of marketing. Keri’s practice is focused on advertising, media, entertainment and technology law, with a specific focus on providing transactional support to both global and domestic in-house counsel and business teams on a wide array of legal issues relating to the creation, production, and dissemination of advertising, marketing, and promotion materials and messages. She represents clients in a wide array of industries, including advertising, media, beauty, sports, fashion, luxury-goods, financial services, real estate, publishing, automotive, retail and consumer packaged goods.
Keri’s clients regularly call on her to counsel on issues relating to copyright, trademark, and rights of privacy and publicity laws; union issues; user-generated content; social media marketing and other emerging media; FTC endorsement guides; false advertising; claim substantiation; music, software and trademark licensing; corporate sponsorships; commercial co-ventures; and promotions, sweepstakes and other sales incentives, such as gift cards, rebates and coupons. Keri also supports her clients in reviewing, drafting and negotiating a variety of agreements, including celebrity endorsement and talent agreements, client-agency agreements, multi-service vendor agreements, and sponsorship and strategic alliance agreements. She additionally has experience working with local counsel around the world to defend foreign false advertising investigations.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Keri spent seven years working in the advertising industry, leading the development and production of advertising strategies and campaigns for both start-up and global brands in the consumer packaged goods, wine, technology and financial services industries. Her knowledge of the advertising and marketing industries gives her a unique understanding into clients’ objectives and the ever-changing media landscape.
