(March 18, 2013) – Reed Smith LLP today announced the appointment of new managing partners in three of its U.S. offices, as well as new leaders in its firm-wide Appellate practice and its firm-wide U. S. Commercial Litigation practice.

Carol C. Honigberg is the new Managing Partner in Falls Church; Edward J. Estrada is the new Managing Partner in New York; and Raymond A. Cardozo is the new managing partner in San Francisco.

Honigberg replaces Karen C. Fagelson, who returned to her successful real estate practice after eight years as Office Managing Partner; Estrada replaces Jordan W. Taking Cardozo’s place as Practice Group Leader of Reed Smith’s firm-wide Appellate Group is Paul D. Fogel, who returned to Reed Smith in 2011, after nearly two years as a judge in Alameda County Superior Court.

“Reed Smith is fortunate to have an exceptionally deep bench of leadership talent in every office and practice, and a culture that recognizes the value of strong, committed leaders,” said Gregory B. Jordan. “We appreciate the effort and commitment of the partners who take on on important office and practice group leadership positions.”

Fogel has been one of California’s leading appellate lawyers for more than three decades, becoming a partner at Reed Smith in 2003, when it combined with his former firm, Crosby Heafy Roach & May. Before his appointment to the bench, Fogel handled more than 350 appellate matters that produced more than 60 published opinions by the California Supreme Court, the Ninth Circuit, and the California Courts of Appeal. He is a Fellow in the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers and past president of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
