Niyati has experience with arbitrations arising under the rules of, among others, the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), Inter-American Commercial Arbitration Commission (IACAC), the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) and London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA).

Niyati regularly contributes to the legal field through her publications. She has authored articles in reputable journals, including the Journal of Institute of Transnational Arbitration and the American Review of International Arbitration. Her writings cover a wide range of topics, such as international arbitration, economic sanctions, and climate change legislation.

Niyati is the founder of Indian Women in International Arbitration, an organization dedicated to empowering and promoting women in the field. She has acted as a facilitator for the Young ITA Mentorship Programme for two consecutive years now, and serves as a coach and arbitrator in several international moot court competitions.

Niyati received the Runners up Laureate of the Academy Award at the Paris Arbitration Academy, organized by the Comité français de l’arbitrage (CFA).

Niyati is fluent in both English and Hindi.
