Marcus is the youngest person and only woman to serve as chief negotiator for the advertising industry's JPC, the multi-employer bargaining unit that represents advertisers and agencies. As chief negotiator, she represented the advertising industry agencies in negotiations with SAG-AFTRA for the 2022 commercials contracts, which delivered a historic transformation that had not been seen since the inception of the collective bargaining agreement more than a half-century ago. Over the seven-week-long negotiation, Marcus oversaw several changes, including the creation of a new streaming use category to address the growing shift from linear to streaming platforms, a complete overhaul of the rigid and complex editing structures, and the introduction of flat-fee use categories.

In her role, Marcus also guided the advertising industry through the shutdown and resumption of live commercial production, which resumed months before both film and television, and worked with the union to create COVID safety protocols and a process for allowing producers to implement vaccine mandates throughout the pandemic.
