Crumière has over a decade’s experience advising clients on cross-border and domestic, pre-insolvency and insolvency proceedings and M&A in a distressed context. She assists debtors, lenders and creditors, buyers, investors, shareholders, managers or court-appointed officers across the full range of international and domestic restructuring and insolvency matters.
She joins Reed Smith after having worked at prestigious French (Bremond & Associés, DS Avocats) and international (Clifford Chance) law firms and setting up her own boutique law firm. She joins the firm with her associate Julien Dorin.
Throughout her career, Crumière has worked on numerous out-of-court debt restructurings, particularly in the real estate sector, and has handled high-profile cases such as Carrefour’s acquisition of the Bio c'Bon network and the pan-European restructuring of the children's clothing group Kidiliz.
Panos Katsambas, co-chair of Reed Smith’s Financial Industry Group, said: “We are delighted to welcome Marie to the firm. She has a tremendous reputation and her technical skillset will prove an asset to our clients as we continue to grow our transactional offering, in particular as focused on the distressed assets sector.”
Natasha Tardif, Reed Smith’s Paris office managing partner, commented: "Marie’s arrival reflects our commitment to developing strategic and complementary expertise alongside our existing services in Paris. Our transactional practice continues to grow: following the addition of a leveraged finance and distressed transaction financing team in 2024, recruiting a restructuring team was the natural next step to provide a comprehensive and tailored offering to our clients.”
Crumière was President of the Association des Jeunes en Restructuring (AJR) from 2022 to 2024 and remains an active member of the Association pour le Retournement des Entreprises (ARE), contributing to the development of the restructuring practice on the market. Marie is also a member of Women in Restructuring (WIR), reinforcing her commitment to promoting women in the field.
She was named a “Rising Star” by Legal 500 last year, an accolade that reflects her growing impact in the restructuring sector.
