Frequentis develops and markets its solutions in the Air Traffic Management and the Public Safety & Transport industries. With headquarters in Berlin and a subsidiary in the Czech Republic, FRAFOS will provide critical security components for Frequentis communication solutions. The acquisition enhances Frequentis’ portfolio of products through FRAFOS’ cyber security capabilities.
FRAFOS solutions are approved for mission-critical installations and certified by the German central certification body for IT system security (Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik, BSI). The company provides a wide variety of software products, ranging from cloud-native solutions in virtualized environments to solutions for mission-critical installations.
The Munich-based Reed Smith team, led by corporate/M&A partner Constantin Conrads, included Michaela Westrup, Sebastian Bitter, Christian Schnurrer and Robert Werzlau.
The transaction, which was signed in February and closed in April, involved various complex aspects, including multiple sellers and a pre-signing reorganization. In addition, FDI filing was required in Germany and was completed successfully within a short timeframe.
