Reed Smith congratulates Miami-based Eduardo De la Peña Bernal for being elected president of the International Association of Young Lawyers (AIJA) upon the conclusion of AIJA’s General Assembly last week during the 2023 International Young Lawyers’ Congress in Rio De Janeiro.

Among many other leadership positions, De la Peña Bernal has already served as AIJA’s first vice president from August 2022 to August 2023. He will serve in his new role as AIJA president until September 2024 bringing forward an agenda of global inclusion and partnerships.

De la Peña Bernal works on international arbitration and litigation, often representing corporate clients in a variety of complex business-related disputes arising from the Americas before international arbitral tribunals and courts. He is a dual-licensed attorney in Mexico and the United States.

The AIJA is a global association devoted to lawyers and in-house counsel aged 45 and under. It has 4,000 members and supporters in 100+ countries and has been in existence since 1962.
