Kalid is an associate in Reed Smith’s Insurance Recovery Group, where he focuses his practice on representing policyholders in insurance coverage disputes. He has experience working on a variety of insurance coverage matters, including directors and officers liability, financial institution bonds, cyber coverage, aviation insurance coverage and commercial general liability. Prior to law school, Kalid gained industry experience as a broker account manager, writing personal lines insurance policies.
While in law school, Kalid served as a production editor of the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review. Kalid also served as the treasurer for both the National Black Law Students Association and the Entertainment and Sports Law Society. Kalid was an active board member of the Loyola Scott Moot Court Honors Board and was awarded third place for both brief and oralist at the regional National Moot Court Competition.
Kalid also served as a full-time extern to the Honorable R. Gary Klausner in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
At UC Davis, Kalid earned degrees in political science (summa cum laude) and international relations (cum laude) while also minoring in history and sociology.
In his free time, Kalid enjoys spending time with his family and all things e sports, sports and music. He was a professional and “pro-am” esports player from 2013 to 2016.
