HONG KONG – Reed Smith is pleased to announce that dispute resolution partner Donald Sham has been named to Asian Legal Business’s 2023 40 Under 40 list, which profiles the most accomplished lawyers in Asia under 40 years of age.

Sham joined Reed Smith Richards Butler LLP as a trainee solicitor in 2010, qualified as a Hong Kong solicitor in 2012 and was promoted to partner in January 2021.

He maintains a broad practice spanning arbitration, litigation, contentious insolvency proceedings and regulatory investigations. Sham has extensive experience in acting in a wide range of commercial disputes and is well-versed in both Chinese (Cantonese/Mandarin) and English, enabling him to serve clients of a diverse range of industries, cultures and backgrounds.

He also regularly sits as arbitrator and has been appointed to the lists of arbitrators of various arbitral institutions globally including HKIAC, HKMAG, AIAC, CMAC and SCMA.

Sham lectured on arbitration at The University of Hong Kong’s Master of Laws (Arbitration & Dispute Resolution) program from 2017 to 2020. He regularly publishes bilingual (Chinese/English) articles on the developments in arbitration and related legal principles in Hong Kong.
