John has experience in a broad range of complex commercial disputes, with an emphasis on matters related to the entertainment sector. Beyond entertainment, John has helped deliver victories for clients in industries as diverse as oil & gas, banking, commercial real estate, and the diamond business.
John’s legal experience includes hands-on leadership in federal and state litigation, arbitration, and mediation, spanning all procedural stages: trials, oral arguments, dispositive motions, emergency applications, appeals, and discovery. Consistent with the wide purview of Reed Smith’s Global Commercial Disputes Group, John has worked on a wide range of cases, including, to name a few, copyright infringement, corporate governance disputes, employment cases, complex contract disputes, bankruptcy litigation, and judgment enforcement. Across matters, clients, and industries, John maintains a hands-on approach tailored to clients’ individual legal needs and business goals.
John is a member of the firm-wide and New York office Pro Bono Committees. Among his significant pro bono matters, John has participated in the appellate representation of an Alabama prison inmate on death row, and the representation of the estate of Ahmaud Arbery in his wrongful death suit against the parties responsible for his murder. John is also a member of the Recruiting Committee for the New York office.
