Mara Curtis recognized as Top 100 Lawyer by LA Business Journal

Mara Curtis, a partner in Reed Smith’s Labor & Employment Group, has been recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal for her outstanding accomplishments in the legal profession. This annual LABJ award puts a spotlight on the 100 leading attorneys and firms in the Los Angeles business community.

Curtis counsels on and helps litigate wage and hour matters. At only 39, she has already distinguished herself as one of the nation’s leading lawyers in wage and hour law for cutting-edge industries, particularly the gig economy, transportation, health care and retail sectors.

Curtis has played leading roles in many of the most significant wage and hour cases of the recent past – many of which involve high-risk operational, classification and/or business model challenges that make them fundamentally different from other employment litigation.

She has handled more than 100 class/representative actions over her career, and she is currently lead counsel on more than 25 class/representative action lawsuits in California, including nine in the transportation industry. In 2021, the LA Business Journal named Curtis as one of the region’s most influential women attorneys.

The LABJ will honor Curtis and the other Top 100 Lawyers in an event held May 18 at The Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
