Reed Smith advises Liberty Bar and Restaurant Group on restructuring of TGI Fridays

LONDON – Global law firm Reed Smith has advised the board of Liberty Bar and Restaurant Group Limited on the restructuring of the TGI Fridays business in the UK, helping to preserve 33 restaurants and safeguard more than 1,300 jobs through a pre-pack administration process.

Reed Smith provided trading and restructuring advice to the board and supported the business through a critical Christmas trading period, culminating in the appointment of administrators and the successful sale of the company.

The restructuring represents a significant outcome for a high-profile UK hospitality brand, protecting a substantial number of jobs and ensuring the continued operation of a large proportion of the TGI Fridays estate on the UK high street.

The Reed Smith team advising on the matter was led by Sakil Suleman (Partner) and Linton Bloomberg (Partner), with support from Bhav Parekh (Associate) and Alex Pierce (Associate).
