NEW YORK – Global law firm Reed Smith reported record results for 2025, surpassing $2.02 million in profits per equity partner for the first time, an increase of 11.3%, as global revenue rose 5.6% to $1.58 billion. Net income exceeded $502 million, supported by solid performance across private equity, finance, litigation, tax, insurance recovery, and labor & employment.

“The firm is hitting on all cylinders,” said Casey Ryan, global managing partner of Reed Smith. “Our teams delivered exceptional results, particularly in private equity and finance, which had some of the busiest years in our history. We’re continuing to invest in those high-performing practices to meet growing client demand.”

The results come alongside rapid global expansion, with new offices in Atlanta, Denver, Riyadh, and, last week, Boston, marking four openings in just 14 months.

“We delivered record performance while expanding our footprint and investing in the future,” Ryan said. “That reflects the strength and scalability of our global platform.”

Reed Smith also posted record revenue per lawyer of $1.11 million, supported by rising demand. Geographic diversity remained a key driver, with London, its largest office, generating $258.76 million in revenue, up 3% year over year.

The firm added over 180 lawyers in 2025, including 55 partners, and promoted 29 partners globally.

“Bringing the full strength of our global platform to clients is a cornerstone of our strategy,” Ryan said. “With 34 offices worldwide and continued investment in talent, we’re seeing strong dividends across the business.”

Reed Smith continues to prioritize innovation and modernization, with firmwide AI adoption underway, 100% of associates and approximately 80% of partners now trained in AI tools, and increased investment in technology, operations, and client experience.

“We set out to be a leader in innovation within the legal industry, and that commitment is paying off,” Ryan said. “Everything we’re doing is focused on delivering better outcomes for our clients.”

Ryan emphasized the firm’s ongoing commitment to modernization and operational excellence.

“Those efforts are pushing us forward, making us more sophisticated and more profitable, from business development and marketing to stronger operations and a new website,” she said. “We’re constantly focused on strengthening our client offering, and it’s working.”

With strong momentum across its global platform, Reed Smith enters 2026 well-positioned for continued growth.

“Our culture is a major differentiator,” Ryan said. “It’s what attracts people to Reed Smith, and just as importantly, it’s why they stay. It’s an incredibly exciting time to be at Reed Smith. We’re building a more sophisticated, innovative, and client-focused firm every day.”
