Europe Passes EU AI Act

The European Parliament moved the vote on the AI Act from April to today, and today the EU AI Act was passed.  It will enter intro force 20 days after publication in the Official Journal.  AI is broadly defined and AI risks fall into three categories: Limited, High and Unacceptable.  The law will apply to users, deployers, providers and importers of AI.  Non-compliance will come with heavy penalties of 35 million EURO or 7% of annual turnover, whichever is greater.
