Edward is a partner in Reed Smiths Energy and Natural Resources Group. His practice includes domestic and international infrastructure project transactions, with primary emphasis on the representation of developers, contractors, equipment manufacturers, and operators involved in energy projects. His experience includes the preparation and negotiation of site acquisition agreements; engineering, procurement, and construction agreements; subcontracting agreements; equipment supply, installation, and commissioning agreements; operation and maintenance agreements; interconnection agreements; power purchase agreements; and related project contracts.

Representative matters

Representation of the Mexico City and Madrid based subsidiaries of a Danish turbine equipment manufacturer, in coordination with local law experts, in connection with the negotiation of a turnkey construction contract and long term service and maintenance agreement with a combined value in excess of $500 million for a 396 MW wind power project and 50 kilometre transmission line to be built in Oaxaca, Mexico.
Representation of national power plant developer in connection with the negotiation of a build transfer contract and related backup tolling agreement for a 620 MW gas-fired power plant to be built in Northern California.
Representation of large private equity firm in connection with the sale of a biomass-fired power plant located in Northern California to an international renewable energy developer including preparation of related energy services, fuel and water agreements.
