LOS ANGELES – Three partners from two Reed Smith offices have been included in Super Lawyers’ 2023 list of Super Lawyers for Southern California.

The rankings illustrate the firm’s strength in dispute resolution. Firm lawyers earned recognition for their work defending clients in securities, health care and appellate litigation.

The Reed Smith lawyers included on the Southern California Super Lawyers list are:

  • James Martin, Los Angeles, Appellate
  • Kurt Peterson, Century City, Professional Liability: Defense
  • James Sanders, Century City, Securities Litigation

James Martin has concentrated on appellate law for more than 35 years. His work includes bet-the-company cases involving unfair competition, insurance recovery, coverage and bad faith, financial services, intellectual property, products liability, drug and devices, false claims, and class actions.

Kurt Peterson has a practice concentration in professional liability defense in addition to his core practice guiding large health plans through complex litigation, regulatory and business challenges. He is recognized by Chambers and Legal 500 United States as one of America’s leading health care attorneys.

James Sanders is a trial lawyer who represents clients in securities litigation and white-collar criminal matters. He is a Fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor given to no more than one percent of the lawyers in any state.

All three lawyers have been included on Super Lawyers lists several times over the years.
