Mosquera is a dual-qualified attorney in the Republic of Panama and New York, with almost a decade of experience in investor-state disputes and international commercial arbitrations. Working in Reed Smith’s New York City office, she advises and represents private companies, state-owned entities and states in commercial and investment-treaty arbitrations. She also is listed as an arbitrator.
In a feature interview with Who’s Who Legal, Mosquera discusses her background, the development of her career, and the ways arbitration has been evolving in recent years. Mosquera said a key to success in arbitration is “We must be constant students driven by curiosity. One must endeavor to know the rules under which the case is arbitrated and gain knowledge of the law of the seat. In addition, one should understand how the courts at the seat have ruled on issues that can provide insight into decisive actions throughout the arbitration and enforcement proceedings.”
Reed Smith’s international arbitration practice recently launched its Arbitration Pricing Calculator, a first-of-its-kind mobile app that helps estimate the costs of arbitration at over 40 arbitral institutions worldwide, thereby helping users navigate the various cost structures quickly and accurately.
