Part of the California Legal Awards, sponsored by Law.com and The Recorder, the Women Leaders in Tech Law Award honors women lawyers in the state who are “handling game-changing, law-shaping, market moving work in and around the tech sector.”

Morgan was recognized for her winning defense in high-stakes IP disputes, which helped shape Section 101 law in a manner favorable to tech companies facing patent litigation. Morgan also conceived of, and taught, the first U.S. law school class on litigating Section 101 patent eligibility to students at the Santa Clara University School of Law.

Furthermore, Morgan has been recognized for her service as Honorary Consul of Estonia in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. Known as the “Unicorn Nation,” Estonia boasts the highest number of unicorn companies per capita in Europe, and it is recognized as the world’s most advanced digital society, offering 100% of its public services online.

Morgan and this year’s other winners will be honored at the California Legal Awards in Los Angeles on June 25.
